Tacos N' Beer 5K at Whittier Narrows Recreation Park
Tacos N' Beer 5K is a community 5K run and walk held on May 2, 2026 at Whittier Narrows Recreation Park in South El Monte, California. The course uses trails around Legg Lake and is described as a flat, fast and scenic route that passes open green space, trees and lakes within the park.
The event includes a post race Baja Fiesta. Registered participants receive two tacos and a beer for those 21 and older, plus entry to a festival area with a beer garden, live mariachi, live bands, DJs, games, a mechanical bull and a piñata activity. A Cinco de Mayo costume contest and themed team awards are part of the festival atmosphere.
Awards are planned for the top three overall male and female finishers. Additional competition awards include traditional team costume, most creative team name and largest team. Race entries include a medallion and optional items such as a T shirt and chip timing. Dogs are not permitted on the course; strollers are allowed and are grouped with walkers at the back.
