Tacoma Narrows Half Marathon
The event offers three distances: a Half Marathon, a 10K, and a 5K, all beginning and ending at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
The half marathon is an out-and-back route that follows the Scott Pierson Trail, crosses a pedestrian bridge over Highway 16, passes through the Skyline neighborhood, crosses the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and finishes inside Cheney Stadium where runners pass the warning track and appear on the stadium jumbotron. The 5K also starts and finishes at Cheney Stadium and includes a lap on the warning track.
Support on course includes aid stations approximately every two miles providing water, electrolyte, Vaseline, basic first aid, and energy gels at select stations. Medical personnel are located at the finish. There is a 4-hour time limit for the half marathon; an earlier self-supported start one hour before the main field is allowed for those needing extra time, with restrictions for awards eligibility.
Registration includes a commemorative finisher medal and a tech tank top; a late-July cutoff applies for guaranteed shirt sizes. Race swag is available at packet pickup or the finish and cannot be mailed after the event. Packet pickup occurs the day before at Central Co-op in Tacoma. A portion of proceeds benefits the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
