Tacoma Narrows Half Marathon
The Tacoma Narrows event presented by TCMA offers a road half marathon and a 5K in Tacoma, Washington. The half marathon is USATF certified (WA22014RMB). Courses include a half marathon start at Tacoma Narrows Airport with a downtown Tacoma finish and a 5K that starts and finishes downtown.
Registration includes a finisher medal for the chosen distance and a tech tank top; registrants must order by late July to guarantee a shirt and size. Collective bibs are provided and optional merchandise may be available during registration while supplies last. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
Aid stations are placed approximately every 2 miles on the half marathon course and provide water, electrolyte, vaseline, basic first aid, and some energy gels; certain aid stations include porta-potties. Medical personnel are stationed at the finish and medical services are listed among event partners.
Packet pickup is available before race day at a Central Co-Op location in Tacoma and at race day packet tables. Gear check is offered with a tear tag attached to the bib; organizers advise not placing valuables in checked bags. Parking is available near Cheney Stadium off 19th Street on the north side.
Awards include top overall male and female and age group ribbons for the top five finishers in multiple age categories. A free kids fun run is offered at Cheney Stadium in conjunction with a Tacoma Rainiers ballpark event; entry to the stadium requires a game ticket.
