About the race
The Tacoma City Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving running event in Tacoma's Proctor District organized by the Tacoma City Marathon Association. The event program includes two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1K Kids Run for ages 12 and under
The 5K awards a commemorative finisher medal and the Kids 1K awards a finisher ribbon. The 5K also includes a race T-shirt with a guaranteed size cutoff date of 11/12/26. Team registration discounts apply at set team sizes. All entry fees are nonrefundable and entries cannot be transferred or rolled over to the next year.
Packet pickup is available prior to race day at Ruston Waterfront Market on November 25, 2026; packets contain a race bib with timing chip, safety pins, and a gear check tear tag. Gear check and food bank donation collection are provided on race morning. Donations collected will be delivered to the Northwest Tacoma Nourish Food Bank. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County. Medical services are provided at the event.
Results are posted online shortly after finish and event photos are published in the week following the race. Awards include top overall male and female plus age group ribbons for the top five finishers across standard age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
