Table Mountain Challenge - 5 September 2026
The Table Mountain Challenge is the 22nd edition of a trail running event held on Saturday 5 September 2026 at Camps Bay Primary Sports Field, Camps Bay Drive. The event offers three measured trail distances with listed entry fees, elevation gain and refuel stations.
- 40 km TMC Toughie : R1600; elevation 1900 m; 4 refuel stations.
- 27 km TMC Lite : R1200; elevation 1700 m; 3 refuel stations.
- 15 km TMC Baby : R650; elevation 400 m; 1 refuel station.
The 40 km route circumnavigates Table Mountain and includes significant climbs and descents. The 27 km route includes the Kasteelspoort trail and reaches higher sections of the mountain. The 15 km route covers the lower slopes of Table Mountain with shorter climbs and scenic sections.
Compulsory kit listed by the organiser includes at least 1.5 L of water, food (for example an energy bar, sandwich or banana), a fully charged cellphone, a windbreaker (waterproof jacket if rain is expected), a space blanket and a reusable cup. The event is presented as green and environmentally friendly - no water sachets or paper cups; runners should bring a reusable cup.
The organiser prohibits headphones and dogs and requests that people with flu do not attend. Parking and race-day logistics are managed at Camps Bay Primary Sports Field. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
