T-Bird Trek at Casper College
T-Bird Trek is an annual fundraising running event at Casper College that raises money for student scholarships and alumni initiatives. The event includes on-campus amenities such as breakfast burritos after the races and a fire pit area for post-race recovery.
Distances offered:
- 5K on campus open to run or walk at any pace.
- 10K following the Platte River Trail with a turnaround and aid station.
- Lookout Point half marathon out-and-back up Casper Mountain to a scenic lookout.
- Mostly Downhill half marathon starting at Hogadon and finishing at Casper College.
Course and safety notes: runners on the half marathon and 10K courses are asked not to wear earbuds or headphones because racers share the road with vehicle traffic. Participants should run against traffic and stay to the side of the road. Only designated volunteer cyclists are permitted on the course.
Logistics and results: packet pick-up takes place the day before the races at the University Union building on the Casper College campus, first floor lobby, 125 College Dr., Casper, WY 82601. Professional timing and live finish-line results are provided; split times are available for half marathon participants. Virtual race options are available for the same distances, but virtual entrants are not eligible for chip timing and are not included in the official race results. All registered finishers receive a finisher medal and a shirt; children under 12 may run free with a registered adult and youth shirts are not offered. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each race; age-division awards are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
