Sylvania Triathlon
The Sylvania Triathlon and Duathlon is presented at the Tam-O-Shanter Sports Complex and Olander Lake in Sylvania, Ohio. It is described as one of the oldest multisport events in the country and offers multiple race formats and distances including triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, and relay options.
The event includes both sprint and Olympic distance races and has an Athena and Clydesdale division for the Olympic and sprint triathlons. Age group athletes are ranked nationally from the race distances held at this event. The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, meeting the governing body's safety, insurance, and fairness standards. Gatorade is listed as an official sponsor, and a preferred hotel is noted among local accommodations.
Relay teams are available and are recommended for participants who want to divide the swim, bike, and run among teammates. The event routinely involves live music, more than 300 volunteers, and spectators along the course. Packet pickup is organized before the event, with a Saturday pickup at Olander Beach and race-morning pickup at the transition area.
