Fillmore 5K, Cascade IA
The Fillmore 5K is a 3.1 mile race held at Fillmore Golf Course in Cascade, Iowa. The event uses the same course layout as the local high school cross country meet and takes place the Saturday following that meet, so some local runners may recognize the route.
All entry fees are donated to Dubuque County Conservation for conservation and trail stewardship. The event is hosted by volunteers and friends of Dubuque County Conservation.
The race will be chip timed by Kauder Racing. There is one water station at approximately mile 1.5. The finish area will provide water, bananas, and chocolate milk. Special awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, and awards are also presented to the top male and top female in each age division. Runners receive a super soft Tri Blend t shirt.
Parking along Fairway Road is closest to the start and finish area. On the event map the starting line is marked by a triangle and the finish is just south of that marker near the tee box for the third hole. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
