Swing Bridge Run
The Swing Bridge Run is a community running and walking event in downtown Beaufort organized by Holy Trinity Classical Christian School in cooperation with the City of Beaufort. The event includes a USATF certified 5k course that crosses the Woods Memorial Bridge and runs through historic downtown Beaufort.
Distances offered:
- 5K certified running race
- 2.5 miles non-timed bridge walk
T-shirts are included with registration and must be picked up at packet pickup or on race day. Unclaimed shirts and hoodies will be made available for re-sale; no deliveries will be issued. Packet pickup is offered both at Grounded Running and at the race start/finish location in downtown Beaufort.
The 5K awards the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female finishers in age groups 8–12, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+. Walkers are not timed and are asked to turn around at the end of the bridge for safety and to allow bridge clearing.
Event policies note that the course is dog friendly and stroller friendly with walkers and dogs asked to remain toward the back of the start area. Bicycles are not permitted on the course.
The Swing Bridge Run is part of the Beaufort Triple Crown Race Series, which links this race with two other local races and provides a series medal system for participants who complete all three events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
