Swing Bridge Run
The Swing Bridge Run is a community event on Saturday, November 7, 2026 in downtown Beaufort, South Carolina. It is organized by Holy Trinity Classical Christian School in cooperation with the City of Beaufort and includes a timed 5K and an untimed bridge walk through Historic downtown Beaufort.
Distances
- 5K run on a USATF certified course
- 2.5 mile walk not timed, turns at the end of the bridge
The 5K is professionally timed and follows a certified route that leaves Bay Street, crosses Woods Memorial Bridge to Lady's Island, continues on Meridian Road to Youmans Drive, and returns to Freedom Mall. The walk is intended for participants who prefer not to be timed and are asked to stay to the right on course and join the back of the start line; walkers will turn around at the end of the bridge.
Registration includes a T shirt for each registered participant. All shirts must be picked up at packet pickup or on race day; shirts not collected by the end of the event will be made available for resale. Packet pickup is offered the day before at Grounded Running and on race day at the start area.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in the age groups 8 to 12, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus. Virtual 5K entrants are not eligible for trophy awards.
The event is dog friendly and stroller friendly; bicycles are not permitted on course. The Swing Bridge Run is the second race of the Beaufort Triple Crown Race Series, and series finishers receive medal charms for completing each race.
