Sweater Weather 10K & 5K - Canmore Nordic Centre Stadium
This event offers two trail distances on double track dirt trails through mountain forest, with notable elevation changes. The venue is the Canmore Nordic Centre Stadium, located behind the Main Lodge at 1988 Olympic Way, Canmore, Alberta.
Distances offered
- 5 km on double track dirt trails, aid station at 3.5 km.
- 10 km on double track dirt trails, aid stations at 3.5 km and 7.5 km.
Every registered runner receives a race-day goodie and finish line pie with warm drinks provided by JK Bakery Cafe. Finish line medals are available for an additional fee. Big Bear Trading Company donated gift cards for the best sweater contest.
Practical details: parking is available at the Canmore Nordic Centre and a Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required. Strollers are not allowed on course. Leashed dogs may watch from the Nordic Centre sidelines but are not permitted on the course. Headphones are not allowed for safety reasons. The event enforces a 2.5 hour course cutoff.
Safety and support: medical staff and volunteers will be present on course. Bear spray is mandatory for runners aged 18 and older; for minors it is at the parent or guardian's discretion. Registration opens April 1, 2026, early bird pricing runs until May 1, and registration closes at midnight on September 26, 2026 or when sold out. Entries are non refundable but transfers or deferrals are possible if arranged before September 15, 2026. The event is hosted by rnest endurance, organizers since 2015.
