Sweat Vs Steam, Echuca
Sweat Vs Steam is a running event held along the Murray River through the historic Port of Echuca and the Echuca Moama area. Participants run courses that follow riverfront roads and paths and finish alongside a paddle steamer.
Distances on offer include:
- 500 m Dash
- 1 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
The shorter distances include junior entries. The 5 km and 10 km courses incorporate the Scenic Drive and include off-road sections where runners move onto dirt roads beside the river. The 10 km course has an elevation gain of 8 m. Part of the event experience is a timed or untimed race against the PS Pevensey paddle steamer toward the finish line.
Registration and race bib collection are managed from the Rotunda at Hopwood Gardens, with both a preferred pre-event collection option and an event-day collection option. Event proceeds are returned to the local community, with profits donated to Echuca Regional Health to support local services.
The event program includes separate race categories and results are published after the event. Course maps and participant information are provided by event organizers to registered participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
