Swansea Triathlon
Swansea Triathlon is a sprint distance event held in Swansea city centre along the waterfront. The swim takes place in the dock, and the bike and run sections use closed roads where organisers aim to minimise vehicle traffic.
The sprint distances are:
- 750 m swim
- 20 km bike
- 5 km run
The bike leg is a non drafting course that requires completion of three laps. The bike route is comprehensively marshalled and signed with black arrows on a fluorescent background. Riders are asked to keep to the left unless overtaking, communicate when passing, and reduce speed approaching turn points. At the specified turn point near Morgan's Hotel competitors must stay to the right unless returning to transition, and after completing three laps must keep left to return to transition.
Safety notes on the course state that vehicle clearance cannot be guaranteed at all times and that members of the public may cross roads at various points. Participants are advised to ride within their ability and be mindful of road conditions. Dangerous riding or abusive language can lead to disqualification without appeal.
Entry pricing listed for the sprint category is £84.99 and entry status is shown as closed. GPX files and course guides are provided for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
