Swansea Triathlon
This is a sprint triathlon held around Swansea city centre and waterfront, with a swim in the dock and largely flat, closed-road bike and run sections. The course runs through the waterfront area with spectator access along parts of the route.
Distances:
- 750 m swim in the dock
- 20 km bike on flat closed roads, three laps required
- 5 km run along the waterfront
The bike course is comprehensively marshalled and signed with a black arrow on a fluorescent background. Riders must follow non-drafting rules and keep to the left except when overtaking. Road closures are used but cannot be guaranteed to be completely sterile of vehicles; riders should be aware that members of the public may cross the road at various points and that emergency service vehicles will have priority if present.
The event notes safety expectations: ride within ability, reduce speed approaching turn points, communicate when overtaking, and avoid dangerous riding and abusive language, which can result in disqualification. GPX files for the course are provided. Event materials mention training resources such as a 12-week training plan and a first-timer guide.
