Swansea Triathlon
The Swansea Triathlon is a sprint distance race held along Swansea waterfront and through the city centre. The event features a swim in the dock followed by flat, closed-road bike and run sections set beside the waterfront and through town.
The sprint distance is 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run. The bike leg consists of three laps of a clearly signed course; arrows are black on a fluorescent background and the route is comprehensively marshalled. This is a non-drafting event. Riders are instructed to keep to the left unless overtaking, to reduce speed at turning points, and to communicate when passing other athletes. At the turn near Morgan's Hotel competitors must keep to the right unless returning to transition, and after completing three laps riders should keep left to head back to transition.
Organisers state that every effort is made to keep the course free of vehicles but this cannot be guaranteed; emergency services and any blue light incidents receive total priority. The event information notes that members of the general public may cross the course at various points and asks athletes to ride with caution and courtesy. Dangerous riding or abusive language can lead to disqualification. The sprint entry fee is listed as £84.99 and a payment plan is available; entry is currently closed.
