Sustainable Glasgow Homegrown 5k : 2027
Sustainable Glasgow hosts the sixth annual Homegrown 5k on April 24, 2027, in downtown Glasgow, Kentucky. The event starts and finishes at the new Farmer's Market facility near 400 W. Water Street and follows an out-and-back course that passes through local neighborhoods and the South Green corridor. The race is chip timed and includes age group awards; joggers and walkers are also welcome. Restrooms will be available on site.
Proceeds benefit Sustainable Glasgow and the Double Dollars program at the Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market. The Double Dollars program is a matching grant that helps people using WIC FMNP, SFMNP, and SNAP benefits buy local, homegrown food while supporting fair compensation for farmers. Registration has a fee of $25 and opens October 30, 2026, with registration closing March 1, 2027. Packet pickup and in-person registration are available the evening before at First Christian Church and on the day of the event at the Farmer's Market. To guarantee a t-shirt in a preferred size, registration should be completed before April 1. The race uses standard running age groups including 9 and under through 65 plus.
