Sustainable Glasgow Homegrown 5k

Sustainable Glasgow presents the fifth annual Homegrown 5k in Glasgow, Kentucky on April 25, 2026. The event is a chip timed 5k with age group awards; joggers and walkers are also welcome. The course begins at Yancey's Patio in downtown Glasgow, passes through residential neighborhoods and the South Green corridor, and finishes back on the Square.

Proceeds benefit Sustainable Glasgow and supplement the Double Dollars program for the Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market. The event coincides with the return of the Bounty of the Barrens Farmers' Market to the Square, where shopping and food will be available.

Packet pickup and in-person registration are scheduled for the Friday evening before the race at First Christian Church, 1100 N. Race St, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the main entrance back lot. Day-of registration and packet pickup will be available on Yancey's Patio. Registrations received before April 1 are listed as the deadline to guarantee a t-shirt in the requested size.

A new route was introduced for 2025. Restrooms will be available. Age groups for awards are listed as: 9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-24; then five-year bands from 25-29 through 60-64; and 65 and over. Volunteer opportunities are organized by the race director.
