Event details
The P.A.C.E. Races for Youth Athletic Scholarships take place in Smiths Grove, KY on May 9, 2026. The event is organized by Warren County Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Warren County Public Library. Distances offered:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- Puppy PACE 5K (dog-friendly; hosted with Warren County Public Library)
Entry fees listed are $75 for the marathon, $50 for the half marathon, and $15 for the 5K. All marathon and half marathon participants receive a shirt; finishers receive a medal. All 5K participants receive a shirt and medal, and dog finishers receive a bandana. Awards are distributed by age and gender categories. Proceeds support Friends of Warren County Parks and Recreation, a 501(c)(3) that provides scholarship opportunities so children can participate in sports programs.
Course and logistics
The races begin and end at Ed Spear Park and feature the communities of Smiths Grove and Oakland. The route is rural, with over 90% paved and about 10% gravel. The course includes moderate hills and several railroad crossings. Early packet pick-up for the marathon and half marathon is available on the Friday before the event at Ed Spear Park.
