Sunset & Full Moon Hike at Skokie Lagoons
The Sunset & Full Moon Hike takes place on August 29, 2026, at Skokie Lagoons, 1770 Tower Road, Winnetka, IL 60093. The event is a day hike along trails through woodlands and wetlands, timed to coincide with sunset and the rising full moon and to observe evening wildlife.
The program is organized by the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana and is designed for families, troops, or individuals accompanied by an adult chaperone. Participants are asked to follow Girl Scout ratios from Safety Activity Checkpoints; this is not a drop-off event. The stated age range for attendees is 4 to 99.
No food is provided as part of the event. Admission and parking fees are not included in the event fee. Registered youth participants will receive a patch. Financial assistance may be available; details are provided in the registration forms.
