Sun City Barry James Memorial 5K and Half Marathon : Yakima, WA
The Sun City Barry James Memorial 5K and Half Marathon are annual events organized by the Hard Core Running Club of Central Washington. They take place on the second Sunday of October at Volution Fitness, this year at a new location on University Parkway in Terrace Heights, just east of Yakima. Both courses start and finish at Volution.
The half marathon course runs along roads with rolling hills and passes orchards. Aid stations are provided at miles 3.5, 7, and 10. The event offers separate registration categories for club members and non-members, and both run and walk entries are available for the half marathon.
Registration fees are tiered: $15 for Hard Core Runner members, $20 for non-members, and free entry for youth under age 12. Fees increase to $22 on October 1, with day of race entries priced at $25.
