Sun City Barry James Memorial 5K and Half Marathon
The Sun City Barry James Memorial 5K and Half Marathon are organized annually by the Hard Core Running Club of Central Washington and take place on the second Sunday of October. The event is based at Volution Fitness, 650 University Parkway in Terrace Heights, Washington, just east of Yakima. Both the 5K and the half marathon start and finish at Volution Fitness.

- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
The half marathon course follows rolling hills alongside orchards. Aid stations are located at miles 3.5, 7, and 10. Registration opens on August 7 and closes on October 1. Standard entry fees are $15 for Hard Core Running Club members and $20 for non-members; fees increase to $22 on October 1. Youth under age 12 are free. Day of race entries are $25.
The event includes separate entry options for walking and running in the half marathon and for member and non-member pricing for both distances.
