Event Overview
The Sun City Barry James Memorial takes place annually on the second Sunday of October in Terrace Heights, Washington. Organized by the Hard Core Running Club of Central Washington, the event relocated to University Parkway just east of Yakima. Both the start and finish lines are situated at Volution Fitness.
Participants can choose from several distances and categories:
- Half Marathon Run (13.1 miles)
- Half Marathon Walk (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The half marathon course features rolling hills that pass alongside local orchards. To support participants during the longer distance, the organizers provide aid stations located at mile 3.5, mile 7, and mile 10.
Registration fees are tiered based on membership status. Members of the Hard Core Runners club receive a discounted rate, while a standard fee applies to non-members. Youth under twelve years of age may participate for free. Registration costs increase as the event date approaches, with the final price tier set for day of race entries.
