Summit Run 5K
The Summit Run 5K is a road race of 5K distance that finishes at the summit of Mount Holyoke in Hadley, MA on September 20, 2026. The event is open to runners and walkers and is part of the SMAC Race Series with endorsement from the New England 65 Plus Runners Club. The finish area offers panoramic views over the Connecticut River and the Pioneer Valley.
The course begins on Mountain Road with a short uphill section, turns onto Old Mountain Road for a fast gentle downhill to the mile 1 turnaround, then returns uphill past historic homes and through the Skinner State Park gate. A water stop is provided at the halfway point. The final mile gains about 800 feet on a paved road up to the summit finish. After the race, participants walk down to the parking area by the start.
Event services include custom tech shirts for those registered by August 31, refreshments at the finish, free race photos, and results provided by Rat Race Timing with instant results available at finish. Awards are presented at the summit finish line and include cash prizes for first overall male and female, age group awards for male and female winners, and Atkins apple pies for age group and overall winners.
