Event
The Summer Splash 5k includes a 5k (3.1 miles) race and a Kids Splash Dash (0.5 mile) fun run/walk. It takes place on August 1, 2026, at Badger Mountain Community Park, 350 Keene Road, Richland, WA. The park has a playground, a splash pad, and large grass fields.
Course and safety
The 5k follows the Keene Road Trail in an out-and-back layout. It begins next to the Badger Mountain Park splash pad and turns around where the 12-foot-wide paved trail crosses Bellerive Road. The course will be marked with chalk and cones. There are three road crossings on the route; volunteers will assist at Elementary St, Leslie Rd, and Venus Cir. The Kids Splash Dash stays within Badger Mountain Community Park and follows the paved loop around the fields and splash pad.
Registration, fees and rules
Registration opens January 1. 5k entry fees are listed as $20 online until May 31, $30 online until July 31, and $35 on race day. Children 12 and under are free with a paid parent (a discount code is provided after parent registration). The Kids Splash Dash is free for ages 10 and under. All participants must sign a waiver; minors require a parent or guardian signature. Water and snacks will be available at the finish area.
Results and awards
The 5k will be timed and results posted online. Overall male and female winners receive awards. Age-group medals (top three male and female) are given for each listed age group; all kids dash finishers receive a ribbon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
