Summer Solstice Fell Race

The Summer Solstice Fell Race, part of the Dartmoor Fell Series, is held at Merrivale on Dartmoor, starting near the Dartmoor Inn. The senior race covers 9.5 km (about 6 miles) of challenging terrain, including steep climbs to Middle Staple Tor and a fast descent to a stream ford, with a route marked to protect nesting birds and a firing range. Runners must be skilled in navigation under varying Dartmoor weather conditions.
