Event Overview
The Summer Sizzler is a multisport event taking place at Beaver Island State Park in Grand Island on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The event offers several race formats.
Race Formats
Participants can choose from different events:
- Formula 1 Triathlon: A two-loop course with a 400 m swim, a 10 mile bike, a 1.8 mile run, followed by another 400 m swim, 10 mile bike, and 1.8 mile run. The recommended age is 15.
- Sprint Triathlon: A single loop of 400 m swim, 10 mile bike, and 1.8 mile run. The recommended age is 13. This format is available for individuals or relay teams.
- Aquabike: A 400 m swim followed by a 10 mile bike. The recommended age is 13.
- Duathlon: A 1.8 mile run, 10 mile bike, and 1.8 mile run. The recommended age is 13.
- Formula 1 Duathlon: A two-loop duathlon with 1.8 mile run, 10 mile bike, 1.8 mile run, 1.8 mile run, 10 mile bike, and 1.8 mile run. The recommended age is 13.
Course Details
The swim takes place in the Niagara River with a beach start using a time trial format. The bike and run courses are the same for all events, except for the second swim in the Formula 1 Triathlon. The duathlon starts with a mass (group) start directly behind the transition area.
Registration and Logistics
Registration fees vary by event and date, with early pricing available. An additional USA Triathlon one-day membership fee is required for adult participants who are not annual members of USA Triathlon.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race and on race morning at Beaver Island State Park. All athletes must pick up their own packets, and relay team members must be present. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
