2026 Summer Sizzle 5k & 10k
The event on August 22, 2026 offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The races take place at Deep Run Park in Henrico, Virginia. Points earned in these events count toward the Year Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and also toward the Summer Series. A virtual run option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome.
The course is paved, runs through the park, and is described as scenic and shady with some hills. The 10 km course is an out and back that is completed twice. Water stations are provided: three along the 10 km course at approximate mile markers 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65, and one on the 5 km course at approximately mile marker 1.55; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are available within the park.
Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before August 12; sizes for later registrants are on a first come first served basis. Packet pickup is available at the event. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age groups from 19 and under through 70 plus; top three overall are not eligible for age group awards.
