RTA Run-A-Latke

Event

The RTA Run-A-Latke takes place on Sunday, December 14, 2025 in Richmond, VA, with start and finish at the Weinstein JCC, 5403 Monument Avenue. The event program includes these distances:

• 5K (in person)
• 1 Miler (in person)
• 5K (virtual)

All profits support education at RTA - Richmond Hebrew Day School. A post-race gathering at the JCC will offer hot chocolate, donuts, and latkes.

Course, timing and awards

The in-person courses start and end at the Weinstein JCC and loop through the nearby residential streets. The 1 Miler follows the same course with a turnaround at the half-mile point. The in-person 5K and 1 Miler are chip-timed by Commonwealth Timing and results will be posted on their website. Participants must wear the bib number assigned to them. The 5K will have one water station on course. All finishers receive medals; top finishers receive prizes. Gift certificates will be awarded to top overall and masters 5K finishers; prizes will be awarded to the top 1 Miler finishers.

Registration, shirts and rules

Registration has tiered fees by date. Registrants receive shirts (long sleeve performance shirts for the 5K, short sleeve for the 1 Miler) while sizes last. Strollers and wheelchairs/assistive devices are permitted; those using them are asked to start at the rear of the starting corral. The virtual 5K is untimed, requires no bib, and local registrants may pick up shirts and medals in person. If the race is canceled, registration fees are non-refundable; shirts and medals will still be provided if desired.

Packet pickup and parking

Packet pickup is at Lucky Road Run Shop in Willow Lawn Shopping Center on Sunday, December 7 (12:00-2:00pm) or Thursday, December 11 (4:30-6:00pm). Day-of pickup begins at 8:00am at the Weinstein JCC. Parking is available in the JCC lot with overflow at the Professional Center, 5500 Monument Avenue.
