Summer Grand Prix - Bakersfield
The Summer Grand Prix is a series of four open 5 km races held at Panorama Vista Preserve in Bakersfield, California. The series takes place on June 13, June 27, July 11, and July 25, 2026, at the preserve located at 901 E Roberts Ln, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
Races are organised into three age divisions: Youth, High School, and Adult. There are two race waves and each race has a time limit of 45 minutes. Walkers are welcomed and encouraged to participate. Part of the proceeds and donations will go to Panorama Vista Preserve to support venue maintenance and improvements.
Scoring uses a points scale by finishing place: 1st 9 points, 2nd 8 points, 3rd 7 points, 4th 6 points, 5th 5 points, 6th 4 points, 7th 3 points, 8th 2 points, 9th 1 point. Series scoring counts each participant's best three races toward the Grand Prix total. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each division, both female and male. Overall champions are the runners with the most points in their division across the counted races.
Registration for the races opens January 7, 2026 and closes February 1, 2026. The registration fee is $5.00 per race. Parking at the preserve is limited; overflow is available along the street. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
