Event Overview
The Suckley Quarter Marathon takes place on 17 May 2026. It is the fourth edition of the event. The main race is a quarter marathon, a distance of 6.5 miles (10.55 km). The course is multi-terrain, described as roughly 50% road and 50% trail, using paths and roads around the village of Suckley and Longley Green. Roads are not closed, and runners are instructed to keep left on road sections. The route is marshalled and signposted. There is a water station at the halfway point.
Distances and Races
- Suckley Quarter Marathon: 10.55 km (6.5 miles) for participants aged 16 and over.
- Junior Races: Approximately 2.25 km for two age groups: 8-11 years and 12-15 years.
- Fun Run: A 2 km event suitable for ages 4 and over, held in enclosed fields.
Participant Information
The adult race includes chip timing, a finisher's medal, water, and cake. The junior races also include chip timing and a medal. There are no time cut-offs for the quarter marathon. Trophies are awarded for the first three male and female finishers in the main race, as well as for the first local male and female from within Suckley Parish. All profits from the event go to local charities.
Venue and Facilities
The event is based at The Hop Shed Brewery & Tap Room in Suckley. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Prize giving is scheduled to take place there after the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
