Event details

The Strides For Scholars takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Union, CT at Union School, 18 Kinney Hollow Rd. The event includes the following distances:

5K Run
2 Mile Walk

Registration has a listed price of $38.10 (includes a $3.10 fee) and the registration period ends April 25, 2026. There is on-site parking at the school. T-shirts are provided to the first 100 runners or walkers registered by April 1, 2026.

Course and logistics

The 5K is a point-to-point, downhill course with a total 360 ft descent that runs through Yale Forest. The 5K starts at the school and proceeds down Kinney Hollow Rd for approximately 3.1 miles. A shuttle bus will operate at the finish to transport participants back to the school. The 2-mile walk starts at the school, proceeds down Kinney Hill Rd for one mile, then turns around and returns to the school.

Charity and history

Proceeds benefit the Union School Association Scholarship Foundation. Scholarships have been awarded annually to graduating high school seniors since 1995.
