Event overview

Strides For Scholars takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026 in Union, Connecticut. The event offers two options:

5K Run
2 Mile Walk

Both events are held at Union School, 18 Kinney Hollow Rd, Union, CT 06076. Entry price for each event is $38.10 (includes a $3.10 fee). Registration is open to ages 1 to 99 and closes on April 25, 2026. T-shirts are provided to the first 100 registrants who register by April 1, 2026.

Course and logistics

The 5K is a point-to-point, downhill route that starts at the school and follows Kinney Hollow Rd for 3.1 miles through Yale Forest, with a total descent of 360 feet. A shuttle bus will be available at the finish to return participants to the school. The 2 Mile Walk starts at the school, follows Kinney Hill Rd for one mile, then turns around and returns to the school. Parking is available on site.

Charity and history

Proceeds support the Union School Association Scholarship Foundation. The foundation has awarded scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors since 1995. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
