Stride for Cancer Care, Guildford, 4 October 2026
Stride for Cancer Care is a sponsored walk that supports the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. The event is based at St Luke's Cancer Ward, Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford and uses several well marked trails in the local area.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km family friendly, wheelchair and buggy accessible
- 10 km
- 15 km
- 25 km
Routes are fully recced and marked. Aid stations provide refreshments and there are checkpoint food and water points at regular intervals. Toilets, bag drop and refreshments are available at the start, and free tea, coffee and cake are offered at the finish. A Course Manager and a fully qualified medical crew support the event.
Standard entry is £20, with children aged 13 and under free when registered. Registration and timing chip collection take place at St Luke's Cancer Ward. The event notes an ascent gain range of 200 to 1,031 metres across the routes.
The only compulsory kit listed is a fully charged mobile phone and a minimum of 500 ml of water. Additional equipment may be required by the race director depending on weather. The organiser offers a 70 percent refund of the entry fee up to one month before the event; after that no refunds are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
