40th Annual Strawberry Stride : Portland, TN
The 40th Annual Strawberry Stride is a community running event held at Portland High School, 600 College Street, Portland, TN 37148. The event includes a 5K race, a 1 mile race, and a kids fun run of about 1/4 mile. The 5K supports athletes at Portland High School and uses a course that is relatively flat with a slight elevation during the first quarter mile and again near the finish. The races start and end at Portland High School; the starting line is located on the east side of the building and participants are asked to park and enter on the west side.
Age categories and entry details are organized as follows:
- 5K for ages 10 and up with categories increasing in 5 year increments.
- 1 mile with age groups for middle school, high school, and adult.
- Kids Fun Run for Pre-K/K through 5th grade, about 1/4 mile.
The running events are part of the all day Strawberry Festival, which concludes with a parade later in the afternoon. Online registration closes May 8, 2026. To guarantee receipt of an event t-shirt, registration must be completed by April 24, 2026. Entry fees are listed for each race category.
