Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival
The Straddie Salute is a multi-event swim, bike and run festival held on Minjerribah, North Stradbroke Island. The event offers a range of distances and formats so participants can choose races suited to their age and ability. It is organised as a not-for-profit event hosted by QYAC and Redland City Council alongside NX.
Event distances include:
- Straddie Salute: Swim 750m | Cycle 15km | Run 8km
- Straddie Pure: Swim 750m | Cycle 25km | Run 8km
- StraddieKidz Discover: Swim 100m | Cycle 2km | Run 500m and shorter combinations
- Ocean Swim: 1000m and 500m
- Trail Run: 10km and 5km
The festival emphasises inclusivity and accessibility, welcoming participants with different needs including para-athletes and families with children. Local community organisations contribute volunteer time and receive community grants of up to $1100.
