The Straddie Salute takes place over the weekend of Friday 15 to Sunday 17 May 2026, with primary activity days on 16 and 17 May 2026. Key locations named for the weekend are Point Lookout Oval, Point Lookout Bowls Club, Home Beach and Straddie Brewing. The weekend program includes trail runs, triathlon races (on-road and off-road), youth races under the StraddieKidz banner, ocean swims and a farewell lunch.
Races, entry and race rules
The event features multiple race formats including on-road and off-road triathlons, relay and team options, trail runs, ocean swims and youth duathlon/triathlon/aquathlon events. Distances listed for the running and swimming events include:
- 5 km Trail Run
- 10 km Trail Run
- 1000 m Ocean Swim
- 500 m Ocean Swim
Official entries close 10 days before the event, with late entries accepted until the Friday before the event unless sold out. A One Day Membership (ODM) is added automatically for entrants without an annual AusTriathlon membership; one ODM is required per team entry unless all team members hold annual memberships. Minimum age to participate is 7 years; age groups use age as of 31 December 2025 in five-year brackets. Race procedures include a timing chip worn on the left ankle, compulsory helmets for cycling, prohibition of personal music devices during racing, and wetsuit rules tied to water temperature.
