Storm the Lake Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon and Open Water Swim
This event consists of sprint triathlon, duathlon, team relay options, and a standalone open water swim at King’s Pointe Resort and Waterpark, 1520 E Lakeshore Dr, Storm Lake, IA. The event supports Storm Lake Kiwanis youth projects and is part of the Iowa Championship Triathlon Series and the Iowa Open Water Championship Swim Series.
Race facilities and logistics are centered at the waterpark. All transition areas are located at King’s Pointe and a volunteer will be present with the bikes at all times. Only athletes are allowed in the transition area. Packet pick up occurs at King’s Pointe Lodge the evening before and again the morning of the event. Shirt sizes are guaranteed only for registrations received by Aug. 7; shirts are distributed at packet pick up on a first come, first served basis. All participants will receive a medal. Registration fees are final; entries are non refundable and non transferable.
The organizer recommends swimmers wear foot covering for the swim because zebra mussels can be sharp. The route is marked and supported by volunteers stationed along the course.
