The Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. 5 Alarm 5k
The Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. 5 Alarm 5k is an annual fundraising event held in Stonewood, West Virginia. Now in its fourth year, the race generates funds for the local volunteer fire department to assist with the purchase and maintenance of safety equipment for the community. The event features two primary participation options:
- 5k: An in-person road race.
- Virtual 5k: A remote participation option for those unable to attend on-site.
The event takes place at the Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. located at 8081 Plainwood Ave. Participants who register early may receive specific race perks; the first 100 entries are eligible to receive an event-themed challenge coin featuring the official 2026 design. Custom race bibs are provided, and event t-shirts are available as an add-on for those who register by the July deadline.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, recognition is given to the top three male and female participants in several age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 60 and over.
