Stomping Down Barriers for Mental Health
The event is organized by the Town of Strathmore and FCSS in Strathmore, Alberta on August 9, 2026. Activities use the canal pathway and local parks, with a listed location at Edgeview Road.
Available distances and formats:
- 1 km Kids Fun Run
- 5K canal pathway to Kinsmen Park and back, with color and music
- 10K along the canal to Kinsmen Park and Gray's Park then back
- Half Marathon described as a flat and fast route, includes color portion
- Virtual 5K, Virtual 10K, Virtual Half Marathon complete remotely before the in-person event
Sections that overlap the 5K route will feature color splash stations; participants are asked to wear a white shirt to show the color effect. Additional packets of colour are sold at the event.
Virtual participants may run any time before or on the in-person event day and must submit results by August 9, 2026. A portion of registration fees supports local mental health work: CA$5 from each registration goes to the Strathmore Elks Mental Health Project.
