Stomping Down Barriers for Mental Health
Stomping Down Barriers for Mental Health is an athletic event held in Strathmore, Alberta, focused on raising awareness for mental health. Organized by the Town of Strathmore and FCSS, the event directs five dollars from every registration toward the Strathmore Elks Mental Health Project.
Participants can select from the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1 km Kids Fun Run
- Virtual 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon options
The Half Marathon route is designed to be flat and fast. Both the 5 km and 10 km courses take participants along the canal pathway toward Kinsmen Park and Gray's Park. These routes feature music and color stations where participants are splashed with color along the way. Runners are encouraged to wear white shirts to highlight the color effects.
Virtual options are available for those who wish to complete their run independently. Virtual results must be submitted by August 9, 2026. The event is supported by local sponsors including Running Room and the Strathmore Elks. Registration is open to the public with various pricing tiers based on the registration date.
