Stomp the Stigma 5K
Maria Parham Franklin and the MPF Behavioral Health team organize Stomp the Stigma to raise awareness around mental health during National Mental Health Awareness Month. The event takes place at Maria Parham Franklin Hospital, 100 Hospital Drive, Louisburg, NC, and includes several running events.
- 5K: begins and ends at the hospital; course goes through downtown Louisburg.
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk: family-oriented route starting on hospital grounds.
- Kids Dash (1K): held entirely on hospital grounds.
Registration fees are $30 for the 5K, $20 for the 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk, and free for the Kids Dash. Each participant receives a t-shirt and a swag bag; registration by May 8th is required to be guaranteed a t-shirt and swag bag. Registration opens on January 1, 2027; registration deadlines vary by event.
Awards include top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K and a Timeless Trailblazer Award for the oldest male and female in the 5K. Medals will be awarded to the first 150 finishers of the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
