Event Overview
The Stinger 5K is a family-friendly run and walk event held at the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio National Guard Base, located at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport. This event allows the public to access the military base for a course that highlights the facility's aviation environment.
The route features a start and finish line located at the 9/11 Memorial. Participants run past the fighter wing parking pads and continue onto the Stinger tarmac. The event provides a unique opportunity to experience the energy of the 180th Fighter Wing firsthand while exercising on the base grounds.

Course Regulations
There is a strict 60 minute course limit for the 5K distance. This time limit is enforced to allow the base to prepare planes for operation following the event. A course sweep bus follows the race to assist any participants who fall behind the required pace. Those who do not wish to complete the full distance within the hour may opt for the shorter walk option to ensure they finish within the designated timeframe.
