STINGER 5K at the 180th Fighter Wing
The event takes place on September 13, 2026, at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport, 3150 Whitehouse Spencer Rd, Swanton, Ohio. Activities are held on the Ohio National Guard base operated by the 180th Fighter Wing.
The course includes a start and finish at the 9/11 Memorial, runs past the fighter wing parking pads, and continues onto the Stinger tarmac. Base and memorial access is limited to security cleared registrants and volunteers.
The program includes an in-person 5K (STINGER 5K), a STINGER WALK for participants seeking a shorter version of the route, a VIRTUAL 5K, a 180TH FIGHTER WING KIDS RUN restricted to 180 FW families, and a Stroller / Wagon Rider option. Registration opens July 1, 2026. Published registration fees are $30 for the in-person 5K, $25 for the walk, $20 for the virtual 5K, $10 for the kids run, and no fee for the stroller/wagon option. Some events have different registration closing dates.
