Stinger 5K at the 180th
The Stinger 5K is a run and walk event held at the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio National Guard Base, Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport in Swanton, Ohio, on September 13, 2026. The route includes a start and finish at the 9/11 Memorial, passes the fighter wing parking pads, and continues onto the Stinger tarmac. Base and memorial access is limited to security cleared registrants and volunteers.
Event options listed by the organizer include in-person and virtual formats. Registration windows and fees differ by event: the STINGER 5K and STINGER WALK open registration on May 15, 2026 and close June 13, 2026; the VIRTUAL 5K closes August 21, 2026; the 180th Fighter Wing Kids Run and Stroller / Wagon Rider options have separate registration close dates. Published fees are $30 for the STINGER 5K, $33 for the STINGER WALK, $20 for the VIRTUAL 5K, $10 for the Kids Run, and $0 for Stroller / Wagon Rider. The STINGER WALK is described as a shorter version of the mission. The Kids Run is restricted to 180th Fighter Wing families. For the Stroller / Wagon Rider option, all participants must be registered and children being pushed or pulled should be registered as participants.
