Event overview
The STINGER 5K AT THE 180TH is a once-a-year running event held on the grounds of the 180th Fighter Wing at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport in Swanton, Ohio. The course runs past fighter-jet parking pads and along the "Stinger" tarmac, beginning and ending at the on-base 9/11 memorial. The event page notes that the 180th will conduct F-16 flights after the race concludes. Base and memorial access is for security-cleared registrants and volunteers only. The event has a mission limit of 60 minutes.

- 180TH FIGHTER WING KIDS RUN - price $10, open to ages 2-11.
- Stroller / Wagon Rider - price $0, open to ages 5 and under.
Registration and requirements
Registration opens April 1, 2026. The STINGER 5K price increases after the first 250 registrants; the walk price increases after the first 100 registrants. The virtual 5K shows available spots. All non-military participants and attendees who are not dependents of current active military must consent to a criminal history/background check. At minimum, the check requires full name, date of birth, Social Security number, and a copy of a driver’s license or state ID. Individuals under 16 need only submit a name for accountability.
