Event Overview
The Stinger 5K takes place at the 180th Fighter Wing, Ohio National Guard Base, located at the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport in Swanton. This event offers a rare opportunity for the public to access the base grounds for a morning of physical activity. The course is designed to highlight various military landmarks, providing a unique backdrop for all participants.
Course Features
The route includes a start and finish line located at the 9/11 Memorial. Participants follow a path that leads them past the fighter wing parking pads and directly onto the Stinger tarmac. The event is held within a high-security environment, requiring all registrants and volunteers to undergo security clearance prior to accessing the base and memorial areas.

Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 5K running race
- Stinger Walk for those preferring a non-competitive walking pace
- 5K Virtual race for participation from a different location
