Event overview
Sticks n' Stones Trail Race takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Christie Lake Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Proceeds support Oceana Canada, and the race is held in memory of the Race Director's cousin. La Sportiva will be present with a demo fleet and a footwear giveaway.
Course and race details
The course is a loop of about 5.3 km around the lake on primarily dirt, non-technical trails described as rolling and runnable. Distances offered:
- 5 km (one loop; actual distance ~5.3 km)
- 10 km (two loops; actual distance ~10.6 km)
- 26.5 km (five loops; actual distance ~26.5 km)
- 53 km SOLO (ten loops; actual distance ~53 km)
- 53 km RELAY (ten loops; teams of up to five, exchanges at the start/finish area)
There are two aid stations per loop: one at the start/finish and one near the loop mid-point. Aid station supplies include water, electrolyte drinks, soda, fruit, PB & J, and sweet and salty snacks. The event is cup-less; participants must provide a cup or bottle for fills.
Solo 53 km entries have an 8-hour cutoff. Pacers are not permitted except for participants over 65, who may have a pacer with prior approval. Finishers receive a medal; top solo finishers and top relay teams receive awards. Race timing and photography will be provided. Kit pick-up is on-site at the Beach Pavilion on race day.
