Sticks n' Stones Trail Race 2026
This trail event takes place at Christie Lake Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario, on October 10, 2026. The course is a loop of about 5.3 km around the lake on primarily dirt surface; the route is described as rolling and runnable and is non-technical.
Distances offered:
- 5k (one 5.3 km loop)
- 10k (two loops, ~10.6 km)
- 26.5 km (five loops)
- 53 km SOLO (ten loops)
- 53 km RELAY (ten loops; teams up to five runners)
There are two aid stations per loop, located at the start/finish and approximately halfway. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, pop, fruit, sweet and salty snacks, and standard ultra food items; the event is cup-less so participants must bring a collapsible cup or bottle. A local nutrition company supplies gels in race kits and at aid stations; the gels list maple syrup, tahini, sea salt, and rowanberry extract as ingredients.
The race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Finishers receive medals; top-three awards are given to solo finishers and first-place awards to relay teams by category. Professional timing is used and results are posted. Registration includes parking; spectators must pay park entry. The event supports Oceana Canada.
