Sticks n' Stones Trail Race 2026
The event takes place on October 10, 2026 at Christie Lake Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario. It is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario.
All distances run on a 5.3 km loop around the lake. The route is rolling, runnable, and primarily on non technical dirt trail.
Distances offered:
- 5k one loop, actual course 5.3 km
- 10k two loops, actual course 10.6 km
- 26.5k five loops, actual course 26.5 km
- 53k solo ten loops, actual course 53 km
- 53k relay ten loops, teams of up to five runners
Each loop includes two aid stations, one at the start/finish area and another near the loop midpoint. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, soda, fruit and sweet and salty snacks. The event is cup free so runners must carry a collapsible cup or bottle. The 50k solo race has an eight hour cutoff.
Race kit pickup is held on site at the Beach Pavilion on event day. Participants in the 5k, 10k, 26.5k and 53k relay receive a toque. Solo 53k entrants receive a hoodie; hoodies can be purchased for other categories for CA$35 at registration. The 2026 hoodie design will differ from prior years.
Parking is included in registration fees; spectators pay park entry. The race supports Oceana Canada. Partners include La Sportiva and THN Labs, with THN Labs providing gels made from maple syrup, tahini, sea salt and rowanberry extract.
