Stevenage Half Marathon
Stevenage Half Marathon is an annual October event that began in 1984. A full marathon is held every ten years, with the next scheduled for 2034. The race is organised from Hampson Park Community Centre.
The half marathon uses a two‑loop route that passes through Fairlands Valley Park and parts of the town centre, returning to the start and finish area for the second lap. The course is completely road or cycle path based and traffic free, with full signposting and marshals around the 13.1 mile distance. The course is officially measured as a Half Marathon and the event hosts the Hertfordshire Road Running Half Marathon veteran championships for those born in Hertfordshire or resident for the previous nine months.
The event is licensed by England Athletics and results appear on Power of 10. It operates as a charity fundraiser with volunteers from Fairlands Valley Spartans Running Club and local Scouts. All proceeds go to local charities; the last three events have provided in excess of £35,000 in donations. Each year a nominated local charity is supported, with the 2026 charity being Ehlers Danlos UK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
