The Stevenage Half Marathon is an annual road race first held in 1984. The event includes a 13.1 miles half marathon and a full marathon staged every ten years (next full marathon due 2034). Race headquarters is at Hampson Park Community Centre in Stevenage. The event is chip timed, held under UK Athletics rules with UKA race licence 29379 and course accuracy certificate 24/258. It is hosting the Hertfordshire Road Running Half Marathon senior championships, open to athletes born in Hertfordshire or resident there for the previous nine months. Results appear on Power of 10.
Course, facilities and entry
The course is fully road and cycle path based and comprises two laps that pass through Fairlands Valley Park and parts of the town centre. The route is signposted and marshalled and is suitable for racing wheelchairs. Water stops and toilets are provided approximately every 5 km. First aid medics will be present. Race headquarters offers refreshments, bag drop and toilets; limited changing and limited parking are available nearby. Field size is 800 entrants and the minimum age to enter is 17 years on race day.
Entry fees are listed as Online £30 (a £2 discount for affiliated runners; 5% booking fee applies) and £35 on the day if places remain. The event operates a general non-refundable policy but allows transfer of places; no deferrals. Use of in-ear audio headphones is prohibited; bone conductor headphones are permitted.
