The 5K course uses campus and nearby property trails. One loop measures 2.5 km; runners complete the loop twice and follow an alternative finish path. The 5K course is certified by USATF (code NJ23046JLW) and World Athletics (USA-2023-209).
T-shirts and one-of-a-kind finisher medals are guaranteed to the first 250 registrants. Light refreshments will be provided. The 2K Pup Strut is organized for participants accompanied by dogs. Costumes are encouraged and an awards presentation follows the event.
The event traces its origin to a 2020 effort created in response to the COVID pandemic to raise funds for Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc. The series expanded in 2022 to include participants using a range of mobility options, including runners, walkers, rollers and strollers.
