Sterbenz Run for the Pickles 5K and 2K Pup Strut & Stroll
Sterbenz Run for the Pickles is a community running and walking event held at Warren County Community College in Washington, New Jersey on 10/04/2026. The event welcomes runners, walkers, rollers, strollers and friendly four-legged participants and includes both competitive and non-competitive options.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles) race
- 2K Pup Strut, pet friendly walk
- 2K Walk/Stroll, non-competitive
Registered participants receive a custom race shirt, a finisher medal and a pickle-themed treat at the finish. T-shirts and finisher medals are guaranteed for the first 250 registrants. Light refreshments will be provided and costumes are encouraged. The event includes an awards presentation for recognized participants and teams.
The 5K course is officially certified, with USATF code NJ23046JLW and World Athletics code USA-2023-209. The course layout uses portions of Warren County Technical School and nearby Warren County property; one loop measures 2.5 km and is completed twice with an alternate finish path used to complete the distance.
The event traces its origins to 2020 as a community response to the COVID pandemic and as a fundraiser for Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc. The format expanded in 2022 to include participants of all abilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
