Event overview

The Sterbenz Run for the Pickles 5K and 2K Pup Strut & Stroll takes place on October 4, 2026, at Warren County Community College in Washington, NJ (475 Route 57, 07882). The event includes a 5K run, a 2K pup strut, and a 2K walk/stroll. Registration prices listed are $35 for the 5K and $25 for each 2K event. T-shirts and finisher medals are guaranteed to the first 200 registrants. Light refreshments will be provided. The 2K Pup Strut is pet friendly. Costumes are encouraged. An awards presentation is planned after the event. The event began in 2020 as a response to cancelled running events and expanded in 2022 to include walkers, rollers, strollers, and participants with pets. Early efforts raised nearly $12,000 for Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc.

Course and logistics

The 5K course uses campus trails and nearby property. It is USATF-certified (NJ23046JLW) and World Athletics certified (USA-2023-209). One loop measures 2.5 km; runners complete the loop twice and follow an alternate finish path. Course maps and additional route details are provided by the organizer.
