Location and Course
The event takes place at Warren County Community College in Washington, New Jersey. The 5k course is a certified loop course. It is USATF-certified and World Athletics-certified. The course uses campus trails and extends to nearby properties, including the Warren County Technical School. Runners complete two 2.5 km loops. The 2k pup strut is a pet-friendly walk.
Participation and Details
Registration is open for the three events. Entry fees are listed as $35 for the 5k and $25 for each 2k event. The first 250 registrants are guaranteed a custom race t-shirt and a finisher medal. All participants receive a pickle-themed treat at the finish line. Light refreshments are provided. Costumes are encouraged. An awards presentation is held after the event.
Background
The event is a continuation of a series that began in 2020 as the Sterbenz Run for Abilities, created to raise funds for Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc. A related event, the Sterbenz Miles of Smiles, was created in 2022 to be inclusive of participants of all abilities, including runners, walkers, and those with pets.
