Sterbenz Run for the Pickles
The Sterbenz Run for the Pickles is a community sports event held at the Warren County Community College in Washington, New Jersey. The event features multiple options for participation, including a running race and walking paths that accommodate people of various abilities and their pets.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km running race
- 2 km walk and stroll
- 2 km pup strut for participants with dogs
The 5 km course is official and USATF-Certified (code NJ23046JLW) as well as World Athletics certified (USA-2023-209). The route utilizes the college campus trails and extends onto the nearby Warren County Technical School and county property. The course consists of a 2.5 km loop that runners complete twice before following an alternative path to the finish line.
The event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming runners, walkers, and individuals using rollers or strollers. Dogs are permitted to join the walking portions of the event. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. Registered participants who sign up by the specified deadline receive a custom race shirt and a finisher medal. Refreshments and pickle-themed treats are provided at the conclusion of the activity, followed by an official awards presentation for individuals and teams.
