Steps Toward a Cure: Michigan 5k

The Dravet Syndrome Foundation’s 4th Annual Steps Toward a Cure: Michigan takes place at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan. This community athletic event is organized to support research and patient advocacy programs for Dravet syndrome and related conditions. The event activities are centered around the North Martindale Picnic Shelter.

Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:

  • 5 km running race
  • 1 mile family walk
  • Kids fun run

Registered participants in the 5 km receive a participant medal, and all registered participants receive an event T-shirt, provided they register before the early August deadline. The event includes a morning reception with bagels and coffee, followed by a lunch for attendees.

The venue features additional activities including a silent auction, a raffle, and various games in the picnic area. Children with Dravet syndrome or epilepsy are eligible for free registration when accompanied by a registered adult. The course is situated within the Kensington Metropark system along the Huron River Parkway. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
