Steps for Sustainability 5K : City Mission of Schenectady
The Steps for Sustainability 5K is the second annual 5K event held on September 26, 2026 at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady. The event supports the City Mission of Schenectady by raising funds and awareness for programs that provide food, shelter, clothing and life-changing resources to the men, women, and children the mission serves each day.
Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age group. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by September 1.
Organized sponsorship opportunities are offered at several levels. The presenting sponsor level is listed at $10,000 and includes benefits such as complimentary race entries, prominent logo placement on racer shirts and finisher medals, and inclusion of the sponsor in the race name. Additional tiers include Gold at $5,000, Silver at $2,500, and Bronze at $1,000, each with a combination of race entries, shirt or website logo placement, and on-site recognition. Smaller support options include a Hydration Station at $750 with on-course branding, a Mile Marker sponsorship at $500, a Route Sponsor option at $250, and in-kind donation opportunities for items such as bottled water, snacks, or race-day services to be provided for participants.
