Steps for Sustainability 5K
Steps for Sustainability 5K is the second annual 5K run organized by City Mission of Schenectady on September 26, 2026 at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady. The event supports City Mission programs that provide food, shelter, clothing, and other resources to the men, women, and children the organization serves daily, and it aims to raise funds for those services.
The race is managed by ARE Event Productions. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by September 8. Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers in each age group.
A range of sponsorship opportunities is described, with levels from Route Sponsor at $250 up to Presenting Sponsor at $10,000. Sponsor benefits listed include complimentary race entries, logo placement on racer shirts and the race website, branded signage, naming of a hydration station, mile marker signage, and inclusion of company materials in participant goodie bags. The presenting sponsor and the hydration station were noted as sold out. Organizers also request in-kind donations such as bottled water, energy or recovery drinks, snacks, towels, and photography or videography services to support the event and participants.
