Steps for Sustainability 5K
The Steps for Sustainability 5K is organized by City Mission of Schenectady and takes place on September 26, 2026 at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady. The event is the second annual 5K and is held to support the mission's local programs.
Participation supports City Mission programs that provide food, shelter, clothing and other life-changing resources to the men, women and children the organization serves each day. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by September 1. Awards are planned for the top three male and top three female finishers in each age group.
A range of sponsorship opportunities is available with specified benefits by tier, including complimentary race entries, logo placement on racer shirts and the race website, branded signage and inclusion in race materials. The Hydration Station is located along the 5K route and may include company signage or a tent; City Mission provides volunteers, a table and water for that station. Organizers also accept in-kind donations for goodie bags and race-day needs, with suggested items such as bottled water, energy or recovery drinks, bars, fruit, towels and photography or videography services.
