Event Overview
Steps for Stegman is a community 5K walk/run organized by Jardine Elementary. It takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event is held to honor and support a staff member and to raise funds for the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter. In its first four years, the event raised $19,850.
Distances and Registration
Participants can choose from several events:
- A 5K Run (with shirt) priced at $30.
- A Virtual 5K priced at $30.
- A 1 Mile Fun Run with shirt priced at $20.
- A 5K Run (NO shirt) priced at $20.
- A 1 Mile Fun Run (NO Shirt) priced at $15.
- A Shirt Only option priced at $18.
Registration for events that include a shirt typically ends on April 3, 2026. For no-shirt events and the shirt-only option, registration ends on May 1, 2026. A separate donation option is also available.
Location and Logistics
The event is held at Jardine Elementary School, located at 2600 SW 33rd Street in Topeka, Kansas. The course takes participants through the neighborhood surrounding the school. Parking is available in the West and South parking lots. The starting line is on the East side of the building.
Additional Information
All registrants who sign up by the early deadline receive an event T-shirt. Check-in begins on the day of the event. Proceeds from the event are donated to charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
