The Skyline Scramble takes place Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Topeka, KS at Skyline Park (3511 SW Skyline Pkwy). The event offers multiple time-based race options:
- 12-hour time block
- 6-hour time block
- 3-hour time block
The course is a rugged single loop of about 2.15 miles with rocks, roots, and boardwalks. Each loop has about 250 feet of elevation gain and passes the highest point on Burnett’s Mound, the site of the 1966 tornado.
Logistics and rules
Registration closes March 4, 2026. Early packet pick up is available Friday, March 6 at Fleet Feet. Packet pick up and check-in occur Saturday at Skyline Park; all runners must be checked in before the start. Parking is available through the gate at the top of the access road. 12-hour runners get closer parking; 3- and 6-hour runners use farther parking on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Awards are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers in each time block. All participants receive a medal and a race t-shirt. Key rules: minimum age 18, no non-competitors or pacers on course, trekking poles allowed, no trail cutting, and no littering. Crew may assist only at the start/finish aid station. Chip timing may or may not be used; runners should notify race staff when passing the timing tent or aid station. Pets are not allowed at the event.
