Step Up to 5k : Frankenmuth, MI
Step Up to 5k is the fourth annual inclusive 5K event taking place on August 1, 2026, at Heritage Park, 601 Weiss St., Frankenmuth, MI 48734. The event is hosted by Bremer Prosthetics and is described as a run, walk, or roll that brings together people with a range of abilities, including participants who use prosthetics.
Proceeds from the event support So Every Body Can Move, a national initiative that advocates for state-by-state legislative change to improve insurance coverage for prosthetic and orthotic care. The event emphasizes access to mobility and the role of physical activity in health.
The event offers a finisher medal for everyone who completes the course, a race t-shirt included with registration, refreshments, and the chance to win door prizes. Timing is provided with accurate chip times and results for overall and age group places by Michigan Running Foundation. No-shows will forfeit their shirt and finisher medal.
Registration pricing noted in the event materials includes an early bird fee of $30 until June 1, 2026, with later increases to $35 and $40 as listed. Discounted or waived registration is available for participants with limb differences: bilateral amputees at no cost and unilateral amputees at a reduced fee.
