Step Up to 5K

Step Up to 5K is the fourth annual community 5K event held on Saturday August 1, 2026, at Heritage Park in Frankenmuth, Michigan (601 Weiss St., Frankenmuth, MI 48734). The event is organized by Bremer Prosthetics and raises funds for So Every Body Can Move, a national initiative advocating for improved insurance coverage for prosthetic and orthotic care.

The event offers a 5K running, walking, or rolling option with multiple participant categories for adults and youth, including divisions for bilateral and unilateral amputees. Registration pricing includes an early bird rate of $30 until June 1, 2026, with higher fees later; bilateral amputees may register at no cost and unilateral amputees receive reduced registration. Participants who raise $250 through the fundraiser option receive complimentary registration for themselves and a running buddy.

All finishers receive a finisher medal and a race t-shirt as part of registration. Live chip timing will provide accurate chip times and age-group and overall results, with timing conducted by Michigan Running Foundation. Event amenities include refreshments and a raffle offering items such as a running blade from Ossur and a pair of running shoes from Complete Runner. Age groups are defined from under 14 through 80 and over. Day-of packet pick up is available and no-shows forfeit their shirt and finisher medal.
