Event Details
The Step Up to 5k is an event hosted by Bremer Prosthetics. It is described as an inclusive 5K run, walk, or roll event.
The event takes place at Heritage Park in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The course is a loop approximately one mile long, giving participants the option to complete 1, 2, or 3 miles.
Participation
The event offers several participation categories with varying registration fees:
- 5k - Two Anatomical Legs - Adult: $30 registration, open to ages 15+.
- 5k - Unilateral Amputee - Adult: $15 registration, open to ages 15+.
- 5k - Bilateral Amputee - Adult: Free registration, open to ages 15+.
- 5k - Youth: $15 registration, open to ages 4-14.
Registration includes a race t-shirt and a finisher medal for all participants who complete the event. Refreshments are provided at the event. Participants can also enter a raffle for a chance to win a running blade or a pair of running shoes.
Additional Information
Packet pick-up begins on the day of the event. Chip timing is provided by the Michigan Running Foundation, with results posted online. Proceeds from the event support So Every Body Can Move, a national initiative advocating for legislative change for fair insurance coverage of prosthetic and orthotic care.
