Event overview
Step Up to 5k is an inclusive 5K run/walk/roll hosted by Bremer Prosthetics in Frankenmuth, Michigan. The event supports So Every Body Can Move, a national initiative advocating for fair insurance coverage of prosthetic and orthotic care. The course is a loop of approximately one mile, allowing participants to complete one, two, or three miles as desired. The event uses chip timing with results and age-group places posted online.

Event categories and eligibility:
- 5k - Two Anatomical Legs - Adult: open to ages 15+. Price: $30.
- 5k - Unilateral Amputee - Adult: open to ages 15+. Price: $15.
- 5k - Bilateral Amputee - Adult: open to ages 15+. Price: $0.
- 5k - Youth: open to ages 4-14. Price: $15.
Registration for these events opens May 2, 2026 at 11:42pm EDT. Discounted or free entry for amputees is offered through race pricing; a fundraising option is available that can waive registration when a fundraising target is met. Participants receive a race t-shirt and a finisher medal for completing the event. The race lists age groups from under 14 through 80+. Raffle prizes and on-site refreshments are also provided.
