Event overview
Steep Ultra takes place in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador on September 5, 2026. The event offers trail races through western Newfoundland with ocean views, rolling mountains and remote landscape. Finishers receive a finisher gift. The organizer states event values as community oriented, sustainable, inclusive, and focused on sharing the local area.
Races and courses
- 100 km - out-and-back course, over 13,000 ft of elevation gain, traverses four peaks twice.
- 50 km - about 6,700 ft of elevation gain, runs in the Long Range Mountains and along the Humber River.
- 50 km Relay - teams of up to four runners; team entries can list runners to fill extra spots.
The 100 km and 50 km are trail formats in mountainous terrain. The 100 km explicitly repeats a set of peaks on an out-and-back route.
Registration and policies
Registration opens Nov 15 and closes August 15, 2026. Published entry fees are CAD $120 for the 100 km and CAD $85 for the 50 km. Full refunds minus processing fees are available until March 30, 2026; after that date no refunds are issued. No rollovers or transfers are allowed.
