Joy Run 25KM : Back to where it began
The Joy Run 25KM is a 25 km trail race in Pasadena, Newfoundland and Labrador, returning to the West Coast location where the event began in 2021. The course starts on North Harbour Road in Pasadena and finishes in Steady Brook, descending into the Humber Valley.
The route goes into backcountry terrain with sustained mountain climbs, broad valleys, and rugged sections. Organizers state that this year’s course matches previous years. The event is organized by Joy Run and frames its purpose around mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
The race is held in memory of the organizer’s brother who died by suicide in 2019. The event narrative links the physical climbs and valleys of the course to themes of grief, community, and perseverance. Information on the event page notes that registration closed on May 4, 2026.
Descriptions provided by the organizer emphasize community, remembrance, and using trail running as a way to raise awareness about mental health without offering additional logistical details on start times or aid stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
