Joy Run 25 - Back to Where It All Began
The Joy Run 25 km returns to the West Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, where the movement began in 2021. The event maintains the same distance and the same cause as in previous years.
The course starts on North Harbour Road in Pasadena, moves through remote backcountry with steep mountain climbs and wide valleys, and finishes in Steady Brook with views over the Humber Valley. Runners follow a route across rugged terrain and trail sections similar to prior editions.
The event is held in loving memory of the organizer's brother, who died by suicide. It aims to turn grief into movement and silence into conversation. Stated objectives include promoting mental health, raising awareness about suicide prevention, and strengthening community connections through trail running.
This edition uses the established 25 km course and frames the run as a communal effort to honor memory and support mental health. Registration closes on Monday, June 15 at 6:00 PM NT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
