Stebbing 10
Stebbing 10 is a 10 mile running event hosted by Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners in Stebbing, Essex, held on Remembrance Sunday. The race starts and finishes at Stebbing Primary School and covers a rural circuit through the village and surrounding lanes.
The route is multi terrain, mainly on quiet country roads with short sections of farm track. The course is described as gently undulating and scenic. The event observes a two minute silence before the start and provides detailed route maps, including GPX files.
The race has run for more than two decades and received the Howard Williams Trophy in 2016 and 2017. Organisers make a donation from the event to the Poppy Appeal, the Royal British Legion’s annual fundraising campaign for the Armed Forces community.
Included for entrants are a bespoke commemorative medal inspired by Remembrance Sunday, trophies and other prizes for leading runners, and a £100 cash prize for anyone who breaks the course record (male 51:52, female 58:01). Entry details note a fixed fee and that no on the day entries, refunds or deferrals are allowed. Race information will be sent to registered entrants before race day.
Race HQ is at Stebbing Primary School. There is ample parking but it is located about a 10 minute walk from the school and participants are asked not to park on the road through Stebbing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
