Stars & Stripes 5K Run/Walk
The Stars & Stripes event takes place in the town of Rangeley, Maine. Participants can choose between two different distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile
The 5K course follows a route consisting of both paved and gravel roads. Participants travel through the center of Rangeley, passing landmarks such as the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street. The terrain features a mix of flat surface areas alongside gradual inclines and downhills. The route offers visibility of the local wilderness and the lake.
The 1 Mile Kids Fun Run is a non-timed event designed for families. While this shorter distance does not include a commemorative shirt, participants receive a festive goody bag and an ice cream cone from local businesses.
The event starts and finishes at the Rangeley Health and Wellness Pavilion on Dallas Hill Road. Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic themed outfits. Leashed pets are permitted to join the event. Proceeds from the registration fees support health and wellness initiatives through a local non-profit organization. Awards are provided for the first adult female and male finishers in the 5K, as well as the first place girl and boy under the age of 18.
