Stars and Strides Minneapolis
Stars and Strides Minneapolis is a July 4 road race at Lake Harriet scheduled for 2027. The event offers timed mass-participation races and a short children’s run around the lake. Distances include:
- 5K
- 10K
- Kids Run: 0.40 miles
All participants receive a performance tech tee available in unisex and women's sizes and a finisher medal. The event includes age group rankings and awards, with an option to have awards mailed for a fee. Course maps are provided for the 5K, 10K and kids run.
A virtual race option is available; virtual participants have race gear delivered by June 30. In-person race materials may be delivered to participants' homes or picked up in person. Onsite bib and shirt pickup is handled at Dick's Sporting Goods in Rosedale Mall during the days before the event, with scheduled pickup dates listed.
The Minneapolis Parks Foundation's People for Parks Fund is listed as the event charity partner. The fund supports under-served projects and programs in Minneapolis parks, including youth swimming lessons, sailing opportunities, outdoor experiences for teens, and pollinator plantings.
