Star Spangled Spectacular 32nd Annual Freedom 5K
This community event is scheduled for July 4, 2026 at Faurot Park on S Cole St near the intersection of Lakewood Ave in Lima, Ohio. The centerpiece is the Freedom 5K, a road race of 5K that typically draws over 1,000 runners.
Registration opens February 5, 2026 and closes June 4, 2026. The entry fee is $20 through June 4 and $25 after June 4. A race t-shirt is included for entrants who register by June 15. Race day registration and packet pick up are available.
Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age category. Age groups are 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
The event also includes an evening program with a performance by the Lima Area Concert Band in the Rotary Pavilion at Faurot Park, followed by a fireworks display. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
