Event information
The ONU Polar Bear Indoor Marathon and Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026 at the ONU Sports Center in Ada, Ohio. The event benefits the ONU cross country and track & field teams. Entry is first-come-first-served with a registration deadline of December 31, 2025 or until the field fills. A maximum of 40 runners will be allowed, although organizers may make exceptions. The entry fee is $100 for either distance and includes a t-shirt and finisher’s medal. Runners must be at least 18 years old.

- Marathon : 211 laps on the indoor 200-meter track (USATF certified OH10061PR)
- Half Marathon : 105.5 laps on the same indoor 200-meter track
The course is run entirely on the indoor field house track. Runners change directions at regular intervals; when the direction change occurs, participants move to the outside lanes until all have switched. Timing will be recorded with a gun start and a FinishLynx system, with lap splits tracked and provided after the event. There are two aid stations on the track (one at each end); water and sports drinks will be available and runners may place personal supplies on track-side tables. Headsets are not allowed; music will be played. Spectator seating is available beside the track. Only the first male and female finisher in each distance receive awards; there are no age-group awards. The indoor marathon time cannot be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
