The 25th Stansted Stagger
The Stansted Stagger on 3 January 2027 is a long distance walking and running event based at St Johns Church Hall, Memorial Gardens, Chapel Hill, Stansted Mountfichet CM24 8JP. The course is a new route that follows a punctured figure of eight and crosses the River Stort by the medieval village of Manuden, with the centre at Albury and the farthest point at the iron age village of Braughing. The advertised distance for the event is 25 miles.
Two indoor checkpoints are provided at about 14 miles and 21 miles, and there is a drinks and snacks table at about 9 miles. Costs include hot and cold drinks at the start, snacks and sandwiches at checkpoints, and a meal at the finish. A certificate is supplied to all finishers. The event has an entry limit of 180 and entries close on 27 December 2026 or earlier if the limit is reached. Entry fees are listed as £15 for LDWA members and £25 for non members. Entries are not transferable and there are no entries on the day. No refunds are available after 27 December 2026 unless the event is cancelled.
