The 25th Stansted Stagger

The event is a 25 miles point-to-point route held on 3 January 2027 with venue base at St Johns Church Hall, Memorial Gardens, Chapel Hill, Stansted Mountfichet, CM24 8JP (GR TL 512250).

The course follows a punctured figure of eight and crosses the River Stort near the medieval village of Manuden. The route has its centre at Albury and reaches its farthest point near the iron age village of Braughing.

There are two indoor checkpoints at 14 miles and 21 miles, and a drinks and snacks table at 9 miles. Costs include hot and cold drinks at the start, snacks and sandwiches at checkpoints, and a meal at the finish. All finishers receive a certificate.

Entry is limited to 180 participants. Entries open 2 September 2026 and close 27 December 2026 or earlier if the limit is reached. Entries are not transferable and there are no entries on the day. No refunds are given after 27 December 2026 unless the event is cancelled. Dogs are not permitted. Minimum age is 16 and under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
