About the race
The 13th Annual Standing Up to POTS 5K/2K takes place on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. The event supports research, patient education, and community outreach for people living with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and related disorders.
Participants may attend in person on the Wittenberg campus or join virtually from any location during race weekend. The event welcomes participants of all ages; wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers are permitted. The courses start and finish on Alumni Way in front of the Wittenberg University Student Center and take place entirely on campus without crossing major streets.
Distances:
- 5K (approx. 3.1 miles)
- 2K (approx. 1.2 miles)
Registration fees are set at $30 for people 23 and older and $20 for people 22 and younger. Registration and check-in occur at the registration table on Alumni Way; checked-in participants receive a race bib, an event t-shirt if pre-registered, and participant information. Water stations will not be available along the course but will be provided at the finish line. Free parking is available in the Student Center and Krieg Hall parking lots.
Awards for the 5K include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age division, including a top-three category for POTS patients. All participants must sign a liability waiver; minors require a parent or guardian signature. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
