Event overview

Standhope 100 is a 100 mile trail endurance run in Idaho, scheduled for 25–26 July 2026. It is described as Idaho’s highest trail race and takes place on remote wilderness trails through the Pioneer Mountains. There is no qualifying requirement for 2026.

Course and support

The course includes over 23,000+ feet of climbing, steep climbs, technical descents, and extended time at altitude. Runners should expect long stretches between aid and sections with no cell service. The event provides 12 fully stocked aid stations, spot trackers for all 100-mile runners, on-course medical support, and staffing from volunteers and experienced personnel. Drop points are limited because of remoteness, and participants may need to wait at an aid station for transportation if they stop.

Organizers recommend carrying rain gear, extra layers, lights with backup batteries, and means to filter water; final mandatory gear is listed in the race manual. Finishers receive a custom finisher belt buckle and a finisher shirt. The organizer notes the course is very difficult and that many runners do not finish even with strong preparation.
