Event overview
The Standhope 100 is a backcountry 100-mile endurance run held 25-26 July 2026 in the Pioneer Mountains of Idaho. The course includes more than 23,000 feet of climbing and long stretches between aid stations. There is no qualifying requirement for 2026. The race has a total time limit of 39 hours.
Course, support and requirements
The route runs on remote wilderness trails with steep climbs, technical descents, and sections that may lack cell service. Organizers operate 12 fully stocked aid stations and provide spot trackers for all 100-mile runners. Race support includes volunteers, medical support, live communication, and a well-marked course. Mandatory gear details will be listed in the race manual, but organizers recommend carrying rain gear, extra layers, lights with backup batteries, and a way to filter water. Drop points are limited because of the remoteness; runners may need to wait at aid stations for transportation. Finishers receive a custom finisher belt buckle and a technical finisher shirt.
